About the Role:

MEC NT is seeking an organised and motivated Project Officer – Communications to support the delivery of a major Defence communications and ICT infrastructure project. This is a role for the duration of this project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Officer, Coordinator or Administrator looking to build their career within the Defence and communications sector while working alongside experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Technical Specialists.

Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating project activities, meetings and stakeholder communications.

• Managing project documentation, registers and document control systems.

• Preparing reports, meeting minutes, status updates and correspondence.

• Supporting procurement, logistics and supplier coordination activities.

• Assisting with project cost tracking, purchase orders and invoice processing.

• Maintaining project records and supporting compliance requirements.

• Liaising with Defence representatives, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

• Assisting with project planning, mobilisation, commissioning and project close-out activities.

About you:

• The ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (essential)

• An Australian Citizen (essential)

• Experience in a Project Officer, Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar role.

• Experience in Communications is highly regarded

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.

• A current Australian Driver's Licence
